Most hotels have offer machines and workout equipment. Things like an elliptical, treadmill, stationary bike, and dumbbells are standard pieces of equipment most hotels have for guests to use. While these machines may not be what you use every day back home, they will provide you with an opportunity to get a workout on the road.

Another great way to exercise while on a business trip is by going for a swim in the hotel pool. Swimming is one of the best low-impact forms of exercise, so almost anyone, no matter their fitness level, can benefit. Most importantly, swimming is just plain fun. Make sure to check the hotel website before you leave home to ensure there is a pool on site.

  1. Don’t have Access to a Gym?

While most of the hotels have a gym and some equipment on-site, it’s not always guaranteed. You just might have to get creative. Your hotel room can turn into a private studio. If there’s no gym, run the stairs.

There is plenty of space for mat exercises like pushups, crunches, yoga, and Pilates. Mats are thin and can fold up easily in your luggage, or you could lay down a bath towel. Resistance bands take up little room in your suitcase, too. After your workout, cool down with a walk outside.

If you feel like you’re not going to have the energy for a full workout after a long day of meetings, there’s still hope for a bit of exercise while you’re in your work clothes.

Walk as much as you can. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. Instead of taking a cab everywhere, walk there. Explore the area on foot after the workday ends. Traipse around the airport instead of sitting and waiting for your plane to board. Find yourself nodding off in a meeting? Get up and take a quick walk to the bathroom to stretch your legs. After sitting all day, a bit of movement is a great thing for your body.
