Summer is here and the kids are almost out of school.  Now what to do?  Here are a few ideas…

Music on Main

Check out main street Lakewood Ranch the 1st Friday of every month.  There is music, food and entertainment

June 3rd– Snook Adams Kid Day

Take a trip to Anna Maria Island for the day to celebrate the end of school with the Anna Maria Island Privateers.  There will be games and prizes and free food.  For more info call 941-249-0782

June 3rd– World Ocean Day

Enjoy a day of games, crafts, and marine science at Mote Marine.  Tickets are $14.75/kids and $19.75/adults

June 6th– 2nd Annual FST Backlot BBQ

Help Florida Studio Theater raise some money while enjoying some great southern BBQ.  Enjoy live entertainment and great food and beverage in the backlot of the FST.  Tickets are $100

June 8th-24th– Sarasota Music Festival

The Sarasota Orchestra is presenting a 3 week festival of up and coming young musicians from around the world.

June 9th-11th– 2017 USRowing Youth National Championships

Cheer on 150 rowing teams competing for the trophies at Nathen Benderson Park.  Competitions are daily from 8am-5pm and parking is $5.

June 10th– Selby Splashin Saturdays

Get away from the heat and head to Selby Gardens for some water activities, water slides and games at the Children’s Rain Forest Garden.  Adults $20 Children $10

June 13th– Kids Summer Beach Runs

Do your kids have too much energy?  Hit Siesta Beach every Tuesday at 5:30pm for a 1 mile run.  Runs continue through August 8th, there is a $1 one time registration fee.

June 13th-July 29th– Hair Raising Circus

Watch Sarasota’s very own Bello Nock perform his hilarious acts.  Show days and times vary; call 941-358-3180 for additional information.  Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for kids

June 18th– Fathers and Fenders Car Show

Take dad to the car show for Father’s Day at Five Points in downtown Sarasota.  Show is from 9am-12pm.

June 26th-July 1st-Shark Days at Mote Marine

It’s Shark Week at Mote Marine! Learn about sharks from the experts.  There will be real sharks, arts and crafts and a family shark festival one day.  Regular admission required.
